PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS FIRST This document assumes that you are thoroughly familiar with the Windows Operating System and how to manipulate files and folders. If you are not, do not proceed. Technical support is not available. You can download a free copy of WCC Platinum 3 from this page. This is the full program with the eight-piece-and-fewer win-loss-draw databases, and the seven-piece-and-fewer perfect-play databases. THERE IS NO INSTALLATION PROGRAM. There are three very large ZIP files. If you have an Internet connection with 300 kilobits per second download speed or more, each of the three downloads will take approximately two hours. 340 kb/s is the maximum download speed available. The total for the three ZIP files is about 7 gigabytes, and when unzipped they will use an additional 12 gigs of disk space. THUS, YOU SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN 19 GIGS OF FREE DISK SPACE. You can delete the ZIP files when you are done. YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE TWO GIGABYTES OF FREE RAM MEMORY WHEN YOU RUN THE PROGRAM. It is possible to run the program with much less than this, but I'm assuming that if you are going to this much trouble you'll want to run the program at its full potential. This means you should have a computer with at least three gigs of RAM. You should consider defragmenting your hard drive first. You might like to download this Readme.rtf file first. You can open it with WordPad, Word, Open Office Writer, or most word-processing programs that are not text-only (like Notepad). Download these three files to a location of your choosing (perhaps your Desktop or the root of your C:\ drive): Unzip WCC.zip. It will create a folder called WCC. Unzip PPL_1.zip. It will create a folder called PPL_1. Unzip PPL_2.zip. It will create a folder called PPL_2. Open the WCC folder, then open the PPL folder inside the WCC folder. Open the PPL_1 folder and the the PPL_2 folder. MOVE ALL THE FILES FROM THE PPL_1 AND PPL_2 FOLDERS INTO THE PPL FOLDER INSIDE THE WCC FOLDER. DO NOT move the PPL_1 and PPL_2 folders, just the files in them. You may now delete all the ZIP files and the PPL_1 and PPL_2 folders. However, you might like to archive the ZIP files for future use or to give to a friend. The reason for the three ZIP files is that some computers can't deal with files larger than four gigabytes. You are free to distribute copies. You can run the program by double-clicking on the WCC Platinum III.exe icon in the WCC folder, or you can send a shortcut to your desktop by right-clicking on the icon and choosing Send to... Desktop (create shortcut). No warranty of any kind is made for the program. It is completely free, and freely distributable, and the user takes full responsibility for any consequences resulting from the use of WCC Platinum 3.
